I recently found What’s The Story Morning Glory for $2.00 at Half Price Books as part of my rebirth as a CD collector (I cannot stand digital downloads). The CD looks like it was never touched. I used to own this album way back in the 90’s until I sold it off, ironically to Half Price Books. I listened to this great album all the way through for the first time in close to a decade recently, and it was like listening to it for the very first time.
Sometimes it takes a long break to appreciate something. This is my question: What album did you listen to over and over again only to put aside and forget about? You might want to give it a listen.

Mine is a very secular and carnal band so I post this at the risk of people getting all up on me, judging me, but anyway…
I have very eclectic taste for music, so mine is a vintage 80’s progressive band Duran Duran. Their CD “Greatest” includes all their greatest and it brings up a sense of nostalgia from when I was a little girl. They were very good for their time. Listen at your own risk.

When I think of Duran Duran, I think of “Hungry Like The Wolf” and their Indiana Jones knockoff video. Oasis is secular too, which is why I do not listen to them much anymore. This brings up an interesting topic that I have been contemplating recently. What is okay for Christians to listen to and what is not? This Oasis album is not bad in terms of language and context, but I still will not put it into heavy rotation on my iPod.
I have a couple of clients coming in today, but I am definitely going to respond to this, soapbox and all.
Your blog has been tagged!

Hold your thought, because I am going to pose this question in a new post.
ok.
I don’t understand why secular music is a problem. Technically speaking, most classical music is secular, much of it is in fact openly pagan, in terms of themes and so forth. Good music is good music, regardless. Unless it espouses stuff that you adamantly oppose, I don’t understand the problem.
BTW, I would have to say the album for me is Beatles’ “Revolver”. It came out just over ten years before I was born, but it’s still fantastic.
“Revolver” is good. Coloradokiwi, it is funny that your album is from The Beatles, while my album is from a band that has tried hard to be The Beatles.
Sorry, my wheels were spinning. I’ll still discuss this here whenever you write yours.
Here’s mine.
