I make no bones about my frustration and disrespect for green fanatics. Green policies are destructive, not to the earth, but to the wallet. Green policies are destructive to advancement. Texans now pay some of the highest electricity rates in the nation thanks, in part, to the incessant and tireless work of the environmentalists’ blockade of new coal-fired plants, and their “Save The Planet” mission. This is what Jim Marston, regional director for Environmental Defense in Texas, had to say about successfully brokering a deal with TXU’s buyout partners to eliminate the construction of eight new, badly needed coal-fired plants:

It really is, I think, a watershed moment in America’s fight against global warming. They have made a number of very important commitments related to both local air pollution problems in Texas as well as commitments to do something against greenhouse gas emissions.

It is all about global warming. It is all about reducing air pollution. Marston is a lunatic much like Ed Begley, Jr. Texas is a state that has seen explosive growth in the last decade. The Dallas-Ft. Worth area is still the fastest growing metropolitan area in the nation. All this growth stems from Texas’ position as a low-tax, business-friendly, job-friendly, illegal immigrant friendly, and environmentally diverse state.

I am not sure where Marston lives, but I would bet that he lives in Austin, giving him no real perspective while enjoying $0.0355 kwh rates. I hold no respect for Marston and his colleagues. His perspective on the world is the result of memorizing Walden. Supply and demand is very straight forward and Texas is suffering from a supply that cannot keep up with demand. My electricity rates have increased 300% in the last four years and I mostly blame global warming propaganda and the hysteria involved. As result of this hysteria, coal-generated electricity, the cheapest form of energy in Texas, has been vilified, resulting in increased natural gas usage. This, in turn, has caused a huge spike in natural gas prices in recent years.

The bottom line is that coal is the only way to keep consumers from getting shafted. All the environmentalist freaks living in Austin, trying very hard to keep things weird, are contributing to the economic struggles that Texans face regarding electricity all in the name of saving the earth. The earth can take care of itself people. We need to take care of ourselves. At the current rate of increases, Texans will be paying $0.25 kwh in four years. Or, at least, Texans outside of Austin.

This whole thing is ironic given that global warming hysteria was spawned from liberalism, a train of thought that demonizes the rich as a weight baring down on the little guy. I have to say that the rich are still setting their thermostats to 70℉ while the little guy cannot afford anything below 85. Green fanatics are engaged in totalitarianism. They do not care about humanity. They only care about the planet. They enjoy watching people suffer through high gas prices and electricity rates, believing that economic pain will force people to think green. High energy costs are only going to wake people up to the lunacy that is green everything. I believe a shift of consciousness is taking place and it has nothing to do with green living, but everything to do with economics 101.

Outlining Al Gore’s Cult July 12, 2008

This is one of the most poignant comments regarding the religion of global warming I have seen recently. It is a response to Bret Stephen’s “Global Warming as Mass Neurosis” from the July 1, 2008 edition of The Wall Street Journal:

Here are the global warming movement’s cultic parallels, many of whose characteristics can be found in Walter Martin and Ravi Zacharias’s famous 2003 book, “The Kingdom of the Cults”:

(1) Leadership by a New Age prophet — in this case, former Vice President Al Gore.

(2) Assertion of an apocalyptic threat to all mankind.

(3) An absolutist definition of both the threat and the proposed solution(s).

(4) Promise of a salvation from this pending apocalypse.

(5) Devotion to an inspired text which embodies all the answers — in this case Mr. Gore’s pseudo-scientific book “Earth in the Balance” and his new “An Inconvenient Truth” documentary.

(6) A specific list of “truths” which must be embraced and proselytized by all cult members.

(7) An absolute intolerance of any deviation from any of these truths by any cult member.

(8) A strident intolerance of any outside criticism of the cult’s definition of the problem or of its proposed solutions.

(9) A “heaven-on-earth” vision of the results of the mission’s success or a “hell-on-earth” result if the cultic mission should fail.

(10) An inordinate fear (and an outright rejection of the possibility) of being proven wrong in either the apocalyptic vision or the proposed salvation.

Finally, since this cultic juggernaut has persuaded (brainwashed?) a majority of Americans into at least a temporary mindset of support for its pseudo-religious scam, Mr. Stephens’s label of “mass neurosis” seems frighteningly accurate.

The green movement in America is toast, the decline starts now. Normal Americans are always going to choose themselves over polar bears. With gas prices high due to juvenile environmental policies enacted by unqualified politicians paid off by lobbyists, Americans are finally going to wake up to the lunacy of the green movement. Americans want to drill. Americans want to use homegrown natural resources, and they want to use them now.

Al Gore and his puppets in Congress and Hollywood want $4.00 gas. They want $10.00 gas. They could care less how much you are spending. Why? Alternative energy sources become economically viable when gas prices get high. High gas prices make Ed Begley, Jr. happy. This is not an American perspective. It is a communist perspective. It is an elitist perspective. The democrats cannot stand you. They think you are an idiot unless you are an unreformed, university trained pseudointellectual like them.

The green movement is GAY. There was once a time in America when a person could use the word “gay” as a synonym for “moronic” without being called a prejudiced homophobe. Call me names, I could care less. Homosexuals like to forget that they hijacked the word from the english language in the first place. In the spirit of being inclusive, I no longer use “gay” in the pejorative sense (excluding the first sentence of this paragraph), but I need a replacement. “Green” is my replacement.

I find anything with “green” attached to it to be repulsive. You have green architecture, green toilet bowl cleaners, green toothpaste, green tennis shoes, green cars, green food, green water bottles, green haircuts, green abortions, etc. This list is now infinite. Oversaturation breeds mediocrity. The word “green” is now stale and moldy. Being green is not cool anymore. If you are a trendsetter you better stop the eco-friendly act, because it is just making you look dated. 2006 is long gone.

Al Gore and the earth worshipers are going to get it handed to them soon. They are a tiny minority and Americans are tired of high gas prices. The $4.00 a gallon mark seems to be the limit. Americans want to drill and they want it done now. If you are an environmentalists and/or a convert to the religion of global warming, you better start ordering your Prozac, because your whole identity is about to go down the drain. The times are a changin’. Besides, drilling in ANWAR will combat global warming.

Ed Begley Jr. is a lunatic. You may have seen the d-lister in such TV fare as Arrested Development, CSI: Miami, Six Feet Under, 7th Heaven, Wonder Woman, and Happy Days among many others. How do I know Ed is a lunatic? The Joe Queenan (Freakonomics) article “Hollywood Hybrid: How The Stars Are Reducing Their Carbon Footprint” from the May 19, 2008 issue of The Weekly Standard enables me to know this. I cannot give a link to this article, because The Weekly Standard is so bourgeois that it requires payment. I got my hands on a copy from a coworker.

The article is a promotion of Begley’s eco-propaganda book Living Like Ed. According to Queenan, Ed’s lifestyle has very nearly cost him his marriage as his wife is a normal human being. He is also representative of the people in Congress, paid off by eco-lobbyists, writing global warming legislation at this very minute. Here is how you can live like Ed:

  • You must stand outside the bathroom door and time and calculate your spouse’s water usage, ready to barge in when too much water has been used.
  • You must not fly on airplanes, because they damage the earth. Only use automobiles for travel.
  • You must only wear vegan tennis shoes and clothing.
  • Organize styrofoam recycling parties. This can be applied to all types of materials and waste products—plastics, steel, paper, carpet, tires, batteries, oil, feces, clothing, used condoms.
  • Use non-toxic house cleaner. Ed likes to drink his.
  • Use a solar oven to cook your food, because conventional ovens damage the earth.
  • Make your pregnant wife, who is in labor, endure a 10 mile detour to fill up your natural gas car. You must not stop there. You have to make your pregnant wife get out and pump the gas.

If you do these things on a daily basis you will be well on your way to being like Ed, not to mention all the other militant eco-lunatics gaining momentum in Washington. This is where we are headed as a nation folks. One day, in the name of global warming, you will be prosecuted for not subscribing to this kind of lifestyle. Get your heads out of sand people.

Image altMy favorite band took part in a concert promoting the Discovery Channel’s new Planet Green propaganda campaign. Anyone who has stopped by regularly over the last six months of this blog’s existence knows that I am a global warming denier. I do not believe in man-made climate change.

If Switchfoot is interested in promoting good stewardship of the earth, then I can get behind that. I am afraid that Planet Green is a front for more radical social change and just another arm of communism’s newest Trojan Horse. I hope Switchfoot has not followed Al Gore down the road of junk science, propaganda, and totalitarianism.

The largest threat to freedom, democracy, the market economy and prosperity is no longer socialism. It is, instead, the ambitious, arrogant, unscrupulous ideology of environmentalism.

Czech President Vaclav Klaus, Blue Planet in Green Shackles [Link]

I spent most of my life under the communist regime which ignored and brutally violated human freedom, and I remember quite well, wanted to command, not only the people, but also the nature, to command wind and rain is one of the famous slogans I remember since my childhood… In the past, it was in the name of the Marxist or the proletariat, this time in the name of the planet. Structurally, it is very similar… The current danger as I see it is environmentalism and especially its strongest version, climate alarmism.

How Not To Save Gas Money May 29, 2008

Image altThe high gas prices are causing Americans to do get loco. Take, for instance the Hales (The Scooterists), a Flower Mound, Texas couple who just purchased two Vespas for a total of $15,000 in order to save money on gas and gain some “environmental panache.” The couple owns a GMC Denali that knocks out $400 a month from their bank account each month, so they are desperate for relief. One problem, the Vespas are not good daily commuters for North Texas, or anywhere in Texas for that matter.

Vespas are great for urban settings like London, New York, Chicago, and Paris, but not so much for spread out suburban America. Also, Texas weather negates six months out of the year for daily Vespa usage. No one, not even Al Gore, is going to drive a scooter anywhere in 103° August heat, nor will anyone drive a scooter in January when it is 33°. There is no spring in Texas. Winter immediately gives way to Summer. At best, if this couple plans on using their Vespas as a daily commuter, they can expect six months of comfortable weather.

How much gas is $15,000. At $4.00 a gallon, you get 3750 gallons. The Hales put 100 gallons a month into their Denali ($400/4). This amounts to 37.5 months of gas or 3.125 years. The Denali gets about 15 mpg for real world usage. The Hales, for just their Denali alone, are driving a bloated 1500 miles a month. The Vespa gets 65 mpg for real world usage. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, if the Hales use their Vespa to replace three quarters of driving time from the Denali, they will save 58 gallons a month (1500X0.75/65 compared to 100X0.75). This is substantial savings of $232 a month based on current fuel prices.

I will give them even more benefit of the doubt and say they will get eight months of usage out of their Vespas, making the annual savings equal $1856 (232X8). I will round this off the an even $2000 a year in savings. All this is based on the substitution of one Vespa for the Denali and not every vehicle they own. In seven year the Hales will make back their investment. This seems like a long time to wait to start getting full savings considering Americans like to trade in their vehicles every three years or so.

There are cheaper and easier ways to save money on gasoline. For half of what the Hales spent, they could have bought a well maintained, used vehicle with better gas mileage. The Honda Civic, Nissan Sentra, and Toyota Corolla all come to mind. In addition, driving fewer miles at slower speeds also reduces fuel consumption. High gas prices are making people do crazy things, this is both sad and amusing.

Americans Are Getting Stupid May 26, 2008

The Transportation Security Administration is as hated as the Internal Revenue Service. This is funny. Americans like to complain about their rights being violated at airports, yet are perfectly fine with surrendering their rights to battle a fictional problem (man-made global warming). Americans are getting stupid. When a fraud like Al Gore can receive a Nobel Peace Prize for distributing propaganda, how can one be surprised that American IQs are shrinking?

The following comments are responses to the YouTube video TSA Gangstaz. They are hilarious.

FYI: TSA Gangstaz is obscene.

iamheuno:

…TSA and homeland security are early versions of a modern day Nazi control system and you no longer have your rights. You and your property are subject to random searches I don’t care what the Constitution says. You will lay down to the growing police state, you will be controlled.

The last thing I or anyone else needs is the government doing anything to “keep me safe”. How f*****n hard is it to understand the difference between freedom and control? When was the last time you did some reading or thinking. Tell me how many knives and you steal. And tell me why you think it’s ok to steal peoples private property, I guess that’s freedom. If you don’t want to think and understand what freedom and the Constitution are then being a low grade dip s**t tsa is just your thing.

GryphonsClaw:

So, TSA going through your bags is not violating any rights; illegal search? The fact you get on a list and have no right to know why you are on the list. Therefore, every time you fly you are pulled out of line and questioned. Wait until you get on one of those lists. Maybe you will miss a flight because of that. Maybe the TSA should start searching traffic on the way into work in the morning since you don’t have a right to free travel? We could have prevented OK City if they had done that.

JodasPinkt:

… why does the TSA do stupid bull***t like making people to remove piercings? Or that moronic 4oz of fluid thing? Or destroying people’s electronic media? And let’s not even get started on the rampant molestation and voyeurism that is inherent to that job.

Sorry, if you work for the TSA, then you ARE a mindless thug, an agent of the police-state.

You seem VERY proud of filing a police report on some girl that probably didn’t do anything wrong. That says a lot about you as a person.

It’s ironic; seven years ago, Americans were afraid to fly because of hostile Arabs who work for terrorist groups. Now they’re afraid to fly because of hostile Americans who work for their own government. BIG improvement.

Seriously—I will NEVER fly in America now.

When I did it back in 2000, it was awesome. Flashed my birth certificate at the guards, walked on by. No passports, no scans, no bullshit.

AmericanCupCake:

I work at a major airport and found that a lot of the TSA workers are miserable, anal and very cantankerous people. But this takes the cake. You really get to see for yourself, on this video clip, what those crooks are really about, lol. Thank God whoever came up with this one. Let the truth keep being told.

alkedda:

… most TSA employees are not white. They’re usually ghetto thugs that have no clue what they’re looking for or at.

hamieone:

TSA is a great program. It takes bums and highly uneducated people off the street and gives them just enough authority to make a lot of people’s lives miserable. Talk about a waste of government money. Thousands standing around is about right.

georgeclark3000:

I for a fact know the TSA is filled with idiots and losers. Just about the biggest waste of our tax money ever. They dont have the brains to be ashamed of themselves.

feet77:

My one and only trip to America - I watched a TSA “Employee” pick her nose as a gun scrolled past in the x-ray machine. If it hadn’t been for a passenger tapping on the glass, she would have missed it. The next 9/11 will happen when somebody walks up to a baggage handler making $4.99 an hour and hands him a briefcase full with $250,000 in it. Minimum wage is the biggest security threat in America today.

johnbbbs:

The public is being trained to meekly accept random, pointless, irrational, unjustified, searches of their persons and property. This is Slave Training, hence: TSA Training SLAVES Administration. Do “TSAers” LOOK like they expect the next bag they open to explode in their faces, or violence of ANY type? NO. They know it is all a FARCE, but they don’t have enough self-respect/esteem to care that the “job” they do is just theatrics to cover the real purpose.

DefiantEagle:

Get a grip. The TSA isn’t preventing anything because the US gov’t carried out 9/11. TSA is preparing everyone for the police state. That’s why when DHS conducted a drill of suspicious materials through airports the TSA missed 80% of them. But no bottle water made it onboard.

marsgary:

I am glad TSA keeps flammable water out of airplanes. We need to get water out of our buildings lest we forget the lessons of 911. I think it was explosive water in the plumbing that brought down WTC 7.

drumblebumm:

They’re criminals, pure and simple. Perverted, thieving, anti-social jackasses. If they don’t want to be thought of like that, then they need to find another line of work…preferably something useful.

I saw this over at Rock For Life Blog and had to share it. You can read about the UN’s condom giveaway here. Just remember, Al Gore blamed the cyclone on global warming. What causes global warming? Overpopulation. What do condoms do? Exactly. These condoms are a courtesy of the UN Population Fund. In the midst of a human tragedy, the Marxists (yes, I used it again) over at the irrelevant United Nations are more concerned about the desperate and hungry people of Myanmar increasing the world’s carbon footprint. The UN should be kicked out of America.

In the April 21, 2008 Newsweek, Greenpeace co-founder Patrick Moore gives us a candid look into the fear tactics and emotional manipulation used by militant environmentalists to gain support from Americans who do not think for themselves. When asked by Fareed Zakaria about his support for nuclear energy, Moore gave this response:

My belief, in retrospect, is that because we were so focused on the destructive aspect of nuclear technology and nuclear war, we made the mistake of lumping nuclear energy in with nuclear weapons, as if all things nuclear were evil. And indeed today, Greenpeace still uses the word ‘evil’ to describe nuclear energy. I think that’s as big a mistake as if you lumped nuclear medicine in with nuclear weapons. Nuclear medicine uses radioactive isotopes to successfully treat millions of people every year, and those isotopes are all produced in nuclear reactors. That’s why I left Greenpeace: I could see that my fellow directors, none of whom had any science education, were starting to deal with issues around chemicals and biology and genetics, which they had no formal training in, and they were taking the organization into what I call ‘pop environmentalism,’ which uses sensationalism, misinformation, fear tactics, etc., to deal with people on an emotional level rather than an intellectual level.

This insight come from a greenie, not an SUV-driving neocon. The militant environmentalists are Marxists. Thye are America’s smug, intellectual elite. They worship the earth more than human life. None of this is based on science, as Moore states, it is based on “misinformation.” Why put out bogus information? Control. People respond to sensationalized and fictionalized photos of polar bears floating on ice chunks. The green movement is a roundabout way of injecting Marxism into America outside of what already exists in our universities. You cannot go to the American people and tell them that they have to surrender their will to the government. A direct approach to Marxism only works in our schools. The green movement is the indirect approach. It is about changing Americans’ attitudes to reflect an Orwellian world view, with Al Gore being the director of the Thought Police.

It’s a mistake to think of the climate crisis as one in a list of issues that will define our future. It’s the issue. Everything else has to be viewed through that lens.
