I have been thinking about blogging’s stature in the midst of all the pastimes available to the human race and conclude that, with help from Solomon’s end-of-life clarity (below), blogging is “a chasing after the wind.” I could care less about blog stats, Digg rankings, MySpace and Twitter networking. These types of concerns are meaningless, much like Solomon’s pursuit of silver and gold and Barack Obama’s pursuit of the White House.

I have been spending more time in the real world lately, because the blogosphere, while an interesting medium filled with interesting people, is still a Pascalian diversion and a far cry from real life. It is also single-handedly supplying atheists and homosexuals with a false since of superiority in the world (very humorous). Take Solomon’s words to heart, because blogging can and will own you, leaving you with a computer screen full of wind.

…when I surveyed all that my hands had done
and what I had toiled to achieve,
everything was meaningless, a chasing after the wind;
nothing was gained under the sun. (Ecclesiastes 2:11)
